Why Conduct

Why Conduct a Region III Chorus

The most overwhelming reason to conduct a Region III Choir is to enjoy the unique experience of working with a highly motivated group of students representing the entire 8 county Southern New Jersey Region.  It is a tremendously rewarding event for our conductors.  It is an opportunity to share your knowledge and experience with a richly diverse group of enthusiastic vocalists.

Conductors will receive:

  • Complimentary copies of their musical selections for themselves and their accompanist

  • Complimentary copies of the concert recording for themselves and their accompanist

  • Complimentary copies of the chorus photo for themselves and their accompanist

  • A complimentary dinner immediately following their concert for them and a guest (accompanist receives a single complimentary dinner)

  • An honorarium for their work as a region conductor and accompanist

  • Recognition in the Regions Column of the NJMEA state magazine, TEMPO

  • Commemorative Plaque in honor of the conductor and chorus

NOTE: Conductors living outside of region III will be compensated as per the polices of the SJCDA board for additional preapproved expenses (this may include such items as mileage, hotel, etc.)
