2027 Junior High Conductor & Repertoire
Kathryn Pepe Coleman is a music educator, choir director, vocal pedagogue, and performer based in South Jersey. She currently serves as Director of Choirs at Millville High School, where she directs Select Choir, Concert Chorale, and Madrigals. Previously, she served as Choir Director at Penns Grove Middle School and as Co-Director of the Gloucester County Children's Choir. Kathryn earned dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Vocal Music Education from Rowan University before graduating with distinction from Westminster Choir College with a Master of Vocal Pedagogy. She is an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), the South Jersey Choral Directors Association (SJCDA), the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), and the New Jersey Music Educators Association (NJMEA).
Additionally, Kathryn is the owner and instructor of Pepe Coleman Voice Studio and continues to pursue her passion for performance through regional choral and theater productions. Throughout her career, Kathryn's choirs have earned superior ratings at regional festivals, received recognition at County Teen Arts Festivals, and participated in masterclasses with nationally recognized clinicians. Her students have been selected for All South, All State, and All Eastern Choirs, earned scholarships and awards through NATS and NJACDA, and been accepted into collegiate music and musical theatre programs across the country. Kathryn is
passionate about bridging the gap between choral education and the healthy vocal technique necessary for today’s competitive school music programs. She believes in the transformative power of music to build community, cultivate empathy, and inspire lifelong learning.
Kathryn is sincerely honored to be given the opportunity to serve as the Junior High Chorus Director and considers it a privilege to share this experience alongside so many respected colleagues and cherished friends. As a South Jersey native who grew up participating in All South Choir, this experience is truly a full-circle moment. She extends her heartfelt thanks to the SJCDA Board, and to the remarkable students whose talent, discipline, and dedication have made this performance possible. She is especially grateful to the entire Millville High School
Fine & Performing Arts Department, whose commitment to excellence continually challenges and inspires her. Their shared dedication to arts education and student success makes it a privilege to come to work each day.
Finally, Kathryn would like to thank her husband, Ryan, for wholeheartedly supporting the beautiful life they have built together. His patience, encouragement, and unwavering belief in her have made countless rehearsals, performances, late nights, and weekends devoted to music possible. She is deeply thankful for his steadfast presence and for the countless ways he supports her dreams each and every day.
